Frequently asked questions
Is Lexper a law firm?
No. Lexper is a legal and wealth advisory firm. Its principal, a jurist by training (MLaw) and financial analyst, is not admitted to any bar and therefore does not represent clients in court. When a file requires an act reserved to registered professionals, court representation or a notarial deed, Lexper retains, on the client's behalf and with the client's consent, a registered attorney (admitted to a Swiss cantonal bar registry) or a notary.
How do you work with the panel of professionals?
Lexper analyzes every file as a whole and determines what expertise it calls for. When an attorney, a notary, a tax expert, or another independent professional needs to step in, they are retained separately by the client for their specific part of the work, under Lexper's coordination, and Lexper remains the single point of contact throughout the engagement.
How much does a consultation or an engagement with Lexper cost?
The scoping meeting costs CHF 180, deducted from fees if an engagement follows. Advice is then billed at CHF 160 to 240 per hour depending on the file's complexity, under a written quote accepted before any billable work begins. Fees for panel professionals retained for a reserved act are agreed separately between that professional and the client. Amounts are inclusive of Swiss value added tax at 8.1 % for clients domiciled in Switzerland. For clients domiciled abroad, the service is deemed to be supplied abroad within the meaning of art. 8 para. 1 LTVA: the invoice is issued without VAT and the amount is around 7.5 % lower.
Is my data protected?
Lexper uses information submitted through the contact form solely to deal with the inquiry, keeps it only for as long as the matter requires, and does not share it beyond the scope of the engagement accepted by the client. The site is hosted, and the data processed, in Switzerland.
Can Lexper represent me in court?
No. Lexper analyzes the file, builds the strategy, and costs out the options, but representation in court is an act reserved to attorneys admitted to a bar. When contentious proceedings become necessary, Lexper retains, with the client's consent, a registered attorney experienced in the relevant field.
Do you provide company structuring, domiciliation, or support for real estate transactions?
No. Lexper provides Swiss legal advice in the areas covered by its offering (banking and financial law, administrative law, debt enforcement, contracts, successions, real estate outside transactions, tax). We do not take part in forming or managing companies on behalf of clients, in real estate transactions, or in domiciliation services for legal entities: these activities fall under a distinct regulatory regime (the Anti-Money Laundering Act) requiring a specific affiliation that we do not hold. If your needs touch on one of these areas, we can direct you to an appropriately affiliated professional.
Why go through Lexper rather than directly to an attorney or a notary?
Because a wealth situation rarely falls within a single area of law. A legal adviser who is also a financial analyst considers the banking, tax, succession, and contractual aspects together, before directing the client to the right professionals, rather than treating each aspect separately and without an overall view.
